Your poem captures a genuine struggle with poetry. But yet I enjoyed it despite your doubts! The playful tone and self deprecating humor add a charming touch to your poem. The rhyme and meter was excellent. You skillfully share the challenge of finding the right words and rhythms. Great job!

Thanks so much for your VERY encouraging review - I did try hard for the meter this time, LOL. I just wrote it to have a bit of fun at my own expense. I am glad you enjoyed it, and I hope it made you smile too.

A beautiful little take on the stresses of everyday life and watching others fly past where you are. I love the optimism however, it is exactly the right mindset. Just do what you can. Success has a fluid definition and is most often self defined. So don't be afraid to not be perfect. Perfection too stressful, just hang out in the dregs with us!

Thank you so much for your wise words. Yes, I just write for my own pleasure, and enjoying poking fun at myself sometimes. I agree about perfection - too heavy a burden, and unachievable. You do fine and don't worry about the meter - just write blank verse or free verse. I think if you read the hymns of old, you'll find the meter perfect there because it has to work with the music. I think my sense of meter comes from singing those old hymns. Enjoyed your fun take on poetry but don't let that stop you from writing verse!

Yes, you are right. I just post a very occasional poem now, just when I want to have a bit of fun at my own expense. I don't take myself too seriously, especially as a poet. I might be inspired again one day ....Thanks so much for reviewing. I appreciate it.
