Oh, that is hilarious! I am going to suggest doing that round our way. Love the bit about your Grandson's lighthouse drawings.
The ancient Romans carved genitalia into Hadrian's wall to ward off the Celts, so we'd just be following ancient tradition.

    Hello Scarbrems,
I've never heard of that before. Perhaps the Romans carved genitalia that was totally out of proportion in order to totally intimidate. After all, who wants to go after a whole country of Goliaths? Thanks so much for the great review.
    Have a blessed evening.

ha ha ha ha ha this is hilarious! One thing I can say about you Tom is that you don't tell boring stories. You remind me of one of the good old boys can you find around Maple Lake Minnesota and that's kind of we enjoy being around.. as extensively - as I love my grandchildren, I would be counting the minutes for everybody to go home if I were you, I know I would be. You take so much Ives before something has to give. This was an excellent story very entertaining and I'm afraid that if I tell my husband about this plan that Don had of your sons take that to the / city council. .

    Hi Debi,
thanks so much for the exceptional review gal. I think you should encourage your husband to at least consider the idea, or perhaps suggest the idea in a letter to the editor of the newspaper. If enough people hear about it, it's only a matter of time before someone grabs a paint can. Either that or the city will do their job and take care of the potholes.
We just sent off the last of the kids back home. The remaining two daughters and their families live in the lower 48, so it's going to be a long night for them. Better them than me though. I love my family, but when they all get grown up with kids of their own, and even grandkids, then it's time for them to take their place and we get to step down and relax.
    Have a blessed evening gal.

Oh, I hear your joy and I am so happy for you. So LOL, if you ever start missing them again too soon, just go to your birthday poem and I will remind you of what a busy life you have without a family reunion. Haha, Have a great peaceful week, my awesome friend. Debi

Well there are various strategies to achieve one's goal. Sometimes it takes drastic action to get something done but how many cars were damaged in the meantime. Crashes can happen if people swerve to miss a deep pothole. Sometimes you've just gotta do what you've gotta do!

    Hello Wendy,
you've made several good points. There are times when cars are behind you on a busy street that you just can't slow down at a pot hole, and as you mention, tires can be destroyed. It's not uncommon to spend $1,000.00 on a set of tires here, so we certainly don't want them to be destroyed in a pot hole.
    Have a blessed day gal.

This is so funny Tom and this grotesque and unwelcome art did the trick here and made the council fill in the pot holes! My daughter's answer is to complain about her tyres bursting as a result of potholes and so far she has been paid out 3 times for her tyres blowing due to the pot holes not being attended to, and every time they have filled the pot hole in after having to reimburse her. I enjoyed your humorous post, love Dolly x x x

    Hello Dolly,
I'm so glad you enjoyed this post. I'm glad that your daughter was reimbursed for the damage to her tires. I rather doubt that the city here would do that, or if they did, they would drag out the whole process for so long, or make it so difficult to be reimbursed, that one would probably just drop the matter.

Oh my! That's hilarious and rather ingenious. But now I understand your title. It seems that City Hall still has a sense of what is proper. I suppose it would have been cheaper just to paint over the "artwork" but they fixed the potholes. Normally, it happens here during election time.Thank you for sharing !

    Hello Helen,
isn't it amazing that as election day draws nearer, so many of the issues that we've been complaining about suddenly take on new importance. I suppose the city could have painted the art, but I don't doubt that it would reappear, perhaps larger and more graphic the next time.

I personally believe in fighting City Hall by whatever means works best. And if you are lucky enough to have a grandson with questionable artistic skills, use him! Thanks for sharing.

    Hello Marilyn,
thanks so much for the great review and comments gal. My grandson is engaged to be married now, and is balder than I am, so I suspect that his days of drawing lighthouses is over, but I suppose I could ask him. I don't think he'd want to drive the 300 plus miles down from Fairbanks to help us out though, but maybe he would.
    Have a blessed evening gal.
