This is a wonderful love poem and a beautiful, though humorous memory. You started out interested in the car as much as in your future husband. You've told another great short story in rhyme. Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary. Fifty years isn't always easy.

Hi Lorraine, I thank you so very much for the kind words for our anniversary and for having some fun with me and my early years of shallow immature love for the car LOL. Thanks again, my dear friend.

Debi.... Loved your sweet love story. I too had a love story based around a car ... only it was mine, not his. A 1969 Datsun 2000 Yellow Convertible sports car. I think he loved me so he could drive it! Lol... we also married but had to sell it when we moved out of state. We both cried.Lol
Thanks for sharing your story and good luck in the contest.

What a perfect love poem for the contest. 50 years! Congratulations. That is really something in today's world. And I know that the 50 years went by at warp speed. Good luck in the contest.

Hi Debi,
The strangest things bring people together. Congrats on being married so long. It seems poem is about a love triangle between you two people and a car. I think there is a little adultery on both sides. Though since it's not a person it doesn't count.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Happy Easter.

I love your narrative poem for how a car brought you together and was sacrificed for a baby! You made me smile. You have a great ability for that. Love your humor, your love of family, and YOU! Leon and I celebrate 66, come August! (And you didn't make me feel ready to die with my poem, but several others thought that was my "goodbye" poem!) ; )

This was a great and very creative take on the love poem contest. I love that you were brought together by a car. I can see why your grandkids would want to share that story! Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you, as always.

Congratulations on 50-years of wedded bliss. It's almost hard for me to imagine anyone putting up with another that long. LOL. Just joking. Plus, thanks for taking me back with the Roadrunner to a favorite time and memories of my super blue Dodge Charger, an illegal pro-stocker, I drove on the streets. Well, at least from my house to sit on the hill by a drive-in restaurant that every circled. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Ric, we raced illegally but the cops never caught us. He wouldn't allow me in the car on the one long stretch that we were on. Would have been fun to race you back then. Lol..
I thank you so very much for the kind words for our anniversary, but you are right, it is a long time. And thanks for having some fun with me and my early years of shallow immature love for the car LOL. Thanks again, my dear friend.

Debi, the extra star this week is for the Roadrunner! Ain't no coyote gonna catch that thing! This is a nice poem for this contest. I doubt you are the first couple to fall in love while making room for a car. Well done. Terry.

Super sweet car, a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner is shown here, I believe. Beautiful muscle car of our high school days. Your love story is fun and sweet, indictive of that day and time. Our cars we part of our memories and represented our graduation to adulthood. Then marriage and family comes along and we need other things more economical. I still want to buy Jack a restored 67' Mustang like he had. We both wish we had kept it.

Lovely poem and memories entwined in this one, Debi dear.
Love and blessings, and my very best for the contest.
BBB Xoxos!

This is fun, Debi! I really enjoyed how your love for him centred on that wonderful car (although I'm sure that was only a "plus:)) You skilfully incorporate 50 years of happy marriage into your humorous, entertaining verse. Well done and good luck! Debbie
