Oh wow, Bill, thank you for this lesson, I never thought of it that way, I've always shopped with plenty in mind, there's always enough food in the larder for today and beyond, I sleep well, this probably accounts for all the anxiety today, even here children go to school without breakfast or lunch, and we are a prosperous country, great post, blessings Roy

We could also mention lack of food security in the ghettos of the richest country in the world
But, those southern border refugee camps, can't be any fun. And especially when you've been separated from your children and you don't know where they are. That must be awful as a parent to go through that.
But, the difference between the ghetto example and your example is that in your example, the children are now well fed. But in the ghetto they are not.
I wonder if that solution with the bread could work on all children who are well fed, but still think they are hungry
