Hi
This short poem says a lot about how the need for power ruins your life and others' lives also. It only brings loneliness in the end. Well done.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Good luck in the contest.

Hi Joan. Yes, power can corrupt almost anyone. You don't necessarily need power to be powerful. Thank you. - Jamison

    You're welcome, Jamison.
Yes, it is true that 'normal' people can make powerful changes when they put their minds to it

This ten-word poem, Gaining the World, has the required word count and seems to present the mindset and possibilities of yet another Trump obsession.

Ten words. Amazing. The poem and the picture are beyond my ability to praise. It is perfection. I could not do better myself. And from me and my ego, that really does mean something. :-) Karen

Dear Karen, I, too, am at a loss for words. This is such an honor to receive all these stars. They certainly do mean something to me.

You never know if something you write will resonate; writing is so very subjective. But when it does, it is magical. Thank you. - Jamison

Wow, this is a powerful poem (not to infer it is in any way biological)... It brings to mind some politicians, sadly, and the timing is perfect, with all that is happening in the world today -- the war in Ukraine one example.
Well done indeed!

War is evil and it is being encouraged by power-hungry people. This whole world is experiencing troubling times with increasing violence. I am doing a lot more praying these days.

What price, to hold power with lack of faith, grace, or reverence? Broken shells which will topple and be scattered on the wind.

You say much with such finesse!

Good luck in the contest with this entry.
In these times, it is so true that in seeking power, they use lies and hate to fuel their ambition.
So well written
Best wishes,
Mary

Ill-gotten gains never last long. There's always someone nastier... sad.

I appreciate this review, Mary. - Jamison

What a beautiful and eloquent piece of work. There are some prominent US politicians who should be looking closely at your work right now and examining their motives very carefully.

This is a very dark and dramatic piece and perfect for this prompt. Your use of four phrases is impactful... each in its own right... a perfect poem for this prompt. Good luck.
