I've suddenly become very self-conscious about reviewing your post! Seriously, this is very helpful and I still need all the help I can get. I'm pretty illiterate when it comes to computers and you lost me when you said 'copy and paste into a plain text editor. I don't write many stories but, hopefully, the one I posted at the start of the year came out ok. The mad thing is when it looks alright to the one posting but then goes through some weird 'teleporting' exercise on the way to its destination (how's that for terminology?:)) Anyway, thank you so much for sharing this. I still consider myself as much a newbie as anyone (after 10 months!) Take care Debbie PS I always type my poems direct on to the computer and intend to continue this given the aberrations of this site!

Oh, that's funny, Debbie. You're one of the best reviewers I know.
I just learned from Navada that there is a Paste from Word button in the Advanced Editor that I didn't know about. I will experiment with that tomorrow, and maybe using the intermediate step of the plain text editor won't be necessary if that does a proper job. I'll let you know what I discover.
