I'm impressed with the way Emma handled the situation. Lizzy was right to turn to her first. I hope we don't hear that the family turned on her later.

Thank you for the kind review. Lizzy will be okay.

What a wonderful chapter, Barbara. Emma showed great skill in dealing with both Lizzie and her parents, turning a potentially volatile situation into a rational discussion of options. I loved the rules Emma laid down for Lizzie concerning taking full responsibility for her action and insisting there would be no dating or outside activities because the baby is her responsibility, not her parents, should she decide to keep it. Very nicely written and such great advice.
Have a very Merry Christmas, Barbara! - Jim

I can't believe I left the 'should' in. It's so obvious, but I sure did. Thank you for the catches and the kind review.

Well done, Barbara! I thought this was excellently done, reflecting perfectly all your thorough research! The dialogue is realistic and superb and achieved that very practical and mature perspective that Emma was intent on giving. It was also very moving, particularly those very tender and (I'm sure) seminal moments between Emma and Seth. This really is a 'coming of age' for Emma and, seemingly, a pivotal point in her own relationship. Loved it. The best chapter I've read from you! Have a wonderful Christmas! Debbie
