This is a beautiful well written piece of poetry for the Rhyming Love poetry contest Ben. It makes my entry look like a child's poem. The imagery is wonderful throughout. Good luck.

Pish posh, your poem is very nice. As of writing this I believe we are tied, so there?s that! Thank you for your kind words regarding mine. I?m glad you enjoyed it.

Your word choice fits well with the emotion of a reminiscent moment of reflection. The rhyming scheme is an interesting search for one trapped in adherence to form while ignoring the soft words of a memory rekindled.
Allusion, and illusion are rampant here.
Live long and write well,
Fantasist.

What stunning and cleverly subtle rhymes you've employed here while telling a very poignant story. It's very moving. There were certain phrases that really jumped out at me where I have done that very thing - read back over old correspondence in a moment of reflection and found myself reconnecting with a former self long forgotten, as well as a former flame. Thanks so much for sharing this.

So good! Internal and external rhymes... Anthropomorphic metaphor...

A stream of consciousness poem most can relate to, and dwell on, and sigh...

Hey. I just noticed your poet ranking!
You're climbing fast my friend...

I think that's called talent!

Hi Ben. Your poem that effectively uses ABAB rhyme and rhythm to create a smooth flow suggests that the speaker has lost connection and clarity with the past, but oh how wonderful are some of those memories.

Great use of imagery and contrast to create a sense of nostalgia and sorrow until the resolution of letting some things go. You invite readers to reflect on their own experiences about the past.

I wish you all the best with the Contest Committee with this gem. :)

This is a very sad poem in a lot of ways. You have the memories and they're all in a box. It almost makes me want to cry. But I enjoyed it and it's nice work. Patricia.

A lovely rhyming poem Ben. I felt like I too was sifting through a box of memorabilia.
I loved the poignancy of the final lines as you
return us to the box, still to keep.
Nicely done, cheers
Valda
