You nailed it this time, Karenina. Finding joy in the art of self-care. Feeling more independent and free to listen to the music I choose instead of what someone else wants to hear.
The surgery will be planned for early December so that isn't that far away from now. I too hope the pain is relieved but that will only happen after the hard recovery process where I work to regain the ability to walk again unaided.
Quite a lofty goal, but doable.

You should be proud of all your achievements, particularly this recent setback, which clearly is a success. I was born with cerebral palsy and have always had limited use of my left arm and limp beautifully. I can in part, understand, but not in full. This is a story of courage, and without that, we get nowhere I live in Melbourne I cannot offer you help, but if you don't mind, I will include you in my prayers. Thinking of you, Claire.

Yes, I agree with you, Teri. It's the little things in life that capture our hopes and dreams and put them in a basket to enjoy at our leisure. Watching cats play or little children learn are wonderful experiences we live to enjoy.

I'm so sorry to hear about that pain, Jesse, but pleased to know that, hopefully, it will be fixed soon. Pain is very stressful for anyone and I know you've had your share (and can really empathise with you there). What is important is that you either have the right people around you or, as much as possible, be left alone. To have someone there who simply talks about their own ailments and issues is unacceptable and I trust this situation is now resolved. What I'm delighted to hear is that you've found so much pleasure and satisfaction in being able to recoup some of your independence again. It gives me the hope and the endurance I need to go through the surgery I have left to endure and come through it intact with hopefully less pain.
