Oh my goodness Barbara you certainly brought some excitement to this chapter with gunfire and people shot, threatened with knives and Police arriving at the scene. I hope no one actually died here as I was confused as to the outcome of this shooting. There is so much going on here Barbara it was a lot to take in all at once, another fine chapter in your story, love Dolly x x x

The stalker did die. Thank you for the kind review. Things will be sorted out some in the next chapter, it's slower.

This is certainly a gripping chapter. So much going on. We still don't know who the assailant was. What a way for Emma to find out she's adopted, Peggy's comments were a new low, even for her. I don't know why they do her the honor of referring to her as Ms Barton. Seth's right, Emma is a baby. It's not just an age difference. Everyone's treated her like a baby, even her adoptive parents who kept her adoption secret from her. In a town where everyone seems to know everyone else's business, it's strange that she didn't find out through the grapevine.
Maybe after all the threats she's experienced recently, she'll finally grow up. Great scene with her firing the gun at her attacker. Just a note. I was a bit confused when Seth asks about why Ace was outback. Then Emma says I think he's dead. Until I read further, I thought Ace was dead. We still don't know who the assailant was, but I suppose that'll be revealed soon. I'm sure Emma will be able to forgive Susan and Keith for not telling her she was adopted. Excellent chapter. judi

The next chapter moves slower and there's a lot of explaining. Thank you for the kind review.

You're welcome. I think that's what we like to see in a novel--those changes of pace. judi

Hi Barbara, it was a long chapter. I think it could have been broken into two parts. But I still enjoyed reading this. Seth always seems to be there for her.
Now, I don't really think a warning is necessary on this chapter. Looking forward to what's next. Ulla xxx

Thank you for the kind review. I've been trying to decide on the length of chapters. Many of my reviewers are wanting longer chapters.

I know what you're saying, but it makes it so much harder to earn the phony Dollars to promote.

That part is true. I guess some people don't worry about that.

This was a big chapter with a lot going on. First we have Emma and Seth pushing and pulling through their relationship again, Seth brushing off Barton's advances, Emma trying to see through it and gain more trust in Seth, but we can see it's not easy for her to do. Then we have this great scene when the guy jumps her at home when Seth is out on a mission and we have some great tension there. I like how you handled this attack on her, with her getting rescued in the nick of time. There are gunshots, luckily Seth is in his protective vest, but the precariousness of life comes through here. At any minute we could be robbed of happiness by those who wish to do us harm. Then there is the reveal about Emma being adopted, and she goes through some angst about Seth will react to it. I wonder if it would be better broken into two or three parts. estory

I felt this needed to be said at once. I will see how other readers feel, then decide. I could be wrong. Thank you for the kind review.

Hi Barbara from early evening here in Spain.
Oh yes, this post of Chapter 24 is quite long but of course it was well worth iy to read your words..
I really do like the character list... makes it so much easier to follow since I have not read all your chapters..

This is another excellent chapter. I again like the whole chapter to read at one time. Divided there is no hook to look forward to the next chapter. Emma shot the intruder, and he fell to the ground. I had to back and reread it. Would you think about fleshing out that part? Have a blessed day.

I will think about fleshing out that area, but I don't want to become too graphic. The story is about Seth and Emma's romance. Thank you for the kind review.

I am especially glad this is a faith-based story. I love animals and the picture drew me in. It is all well-told and stresses some positive interaction between loving people. Smiles, Lily
