I thoroughly enjoyed this read! What a canny link between the rocking implements happening at both ends of life. I enjoyed your rhyming and metre and I can imagine grandparents reading this with delight to their grandkids as they sit at the foot of the rocking chair on the verandah.

More rocking horse than rocking chair as it happens with most of your poem dedicated to the joys of the younger years. Nice rhyme and meter which, oddly enough, may be a negative in this contest where you are allowed to break the rules and instead you have followed a self-imposed pattern.
