Wow!
I'm sure you've heard this from every corner, but I've never heard of shingles attacking eyes!
We're praying for full restoration and recovery.
I was seeing white flashes with my eyes shut and in the dark The ophthalmologist was physically excited. The stuff he ordered sounded weird to me, so I went to another. "Oh, the wall membrane of the eye is peeling. When it's done, the flashes will stop. Grrrrrr. Excitement over nothing.
Good luck in the contest sounds off, like I hope your experience is more awful than everyone else's. (smiley face here)

Debi,
My friend, you shared something so personal with people who care about you.
I never heard of shingles impacting one's eyes, but what the hell do I know? I slice cold cuts in a deli!

I hope that last dopey line made you smile. Seriously, I'll pray you sight is restored to your desired level with no pain or further drawback.

Be well,
John

May the God of miracles perform one in your behalf. He has all healing powers in his hand. He can do all things for good if that is his desire. Right now I am praying to him to let it be so in your case. Almighty God, in the name of your dear son Christ Jesus, let it be so, please heal my dearest friend Debi. Amen.

Wow Debi, thanks so much for being vulnerable with your FanStory family. The Art of storytelling is one of the greatest gifts a person can have, and you have it my sister. Two of the most powerful words in the English language have been usurped in the last few years. If you can look past the meaning ascribed in the last few years, you'll see the magnitude of connection in the words:
"ME. TOO"
Roughly 4 years ago, I was diagnosed with macular degeneration. I didn't tell my wife for three years until I went back to a different ophthalmologist and she confirmed his diagnosis. I have to wear glasses ð?¤" now while still in my youth. L. O. L.
Our sight is a precious ability.

Thank you Debbie for your ever present authenticity! God bless you.

My, my girl, you certainly have a way with life ... and words. Shingles in the eyes? Do tell. Oh, you have herein. Well done. Especially since, regardless of events in your life, you rarely, if ever have complained. That'sa nice!
Please be well and tend your self.

You shared this beautifully. I have ocular migraines. I'm thankful they aren't painful, but I was frightened when I started seeing the colors running. God has graced you with such a happy heart amid difficulties, and I'm thankful for you! Sending prayer for your surgeries. Love, Verna

Debi, this is an interesting story. I have not heard of this phenomenon before. Your telling of the effects on your vision is well written. It makes it sound like a beautiful thing but yet has tragic consequences. I do hope the surgery will take care of the problem.

I did have one cataract removed, and it was a piece of cake. I need to have another done, but I'm like you and putting it off. My best wishes for a speedy recovery. Terry.

Just make sure you follow the surgeons orders. I hear stories from people at my pharmacy on how they felt like the post op eyedropper weren't needed. They are. Finish them. It should be a piece of cake and good luck. Gretchen
