Done! Ordered it for my nine-year-old grandson... I'm positive he'll like it and of course, I get the added benefit of enjoying it with him! This is such a nice gesture, Jay. Ah, but it's more than that... This is who you are. A kind man who freely and enthusiastically promotes the work of your fellow Fanstorians. I Love Pam's writing and I didn't have to think twice about placing my Amazon order. (Even said I'd have it in hand by this Saturday!)
BTW I'm just now digging into the second of three of your books I ordered a bit ago. (The Greatest Short Stories I Have Ever Written)--
I'm well into "Vacant Houses" and already enjoying your inimitable style.
(Everybody should order this book!)
(smile)
I'm fresh out of sixes....but sun, moon, and stars to you for your very fine nod to Pam's book.

Don't worry about the six. Your compliment has raised my spirits high enough. Vacant houses was special for me. I'm glad you enjoyed reading it.

Super good! I'm on the next story now! (Yup, I'm a bonafide fan!)

Well this is a very nicr promotion for the book Pam has written. I did take a look. The cover is lovely, and I checked out the 'surprise me' page. I'm sure any child would love the book. I don;t have any young family members at the moment. Of course, I'm still very much in touch with my own seven-year old self, and I enjoyed what I read.

Beth, you are a doll for clicking on the site. It means a lot to Pam, I know. BTW, I left a PM for you to answer your question on my writing.

This is beautifully written, Jay, and I can feel the tears welling in my eyes. You have a way with words that speaks to my heart, and you get to the heart of the book without giving away anything, but show life through the eyes of a seven year old as if it were you back in time.
I started reading again and the tears came when you said "she's opened her heart and soul in this book and she couldn't have done it without tapping into the sap and marrow of her own younger self." I never thought about the book this way, but I will say that a number of years ago I was given a gift that did open my heart, and I was writing stories and poems for children. I always wanted to write a book, but never thought I would, and then this gift appeared in my life.
There aren't enough words to express my thanks to you for this. I will treasure it always.
Your friend,
~Pam

You are very welcome, Jay. I read the reviews, and as Sandra Mitchell would say, I am gobsmacked! It means a lot to me.

Gobsmack away ... you are loved and respected, Pam.

Thank you so much, Jay. I am still wrapping my head around all of this.

Going back to when I was 7 years old sounds like a lovely way to spend an afternoon. I think Pam's book Explore new worlds will do the trick. She has developed a primary way to go inside a young child's mind and heart where they live at the risk of wandering right off this planet and escaping this world for a while. I hope to read this and escape myself!
Thanks for allowing me to be a little child.
It feels like heaven to me!

Yes, wouldn't it be wonderful to slip back there for longer than just a moment. It would be heaven. Alas! I wouldn't want to come back. Pam will be thrilled that you're thinking of reading it.
-
Yes, I would love to read it and escape to my childhood. I will get in touch with Pam when I have the chance.

Thank you, Jay, for bringing Pam's book to my attention.
Pam is so very talented and creative.
I especially appreciate the fact that she "thinks outside the box" in ways I seldom imagine.
She is not only talented, but gracious and humble as well.
Thank you again!

Diane, such a joy you are to rave about Pam. If she reads your words, I know she'll be thrilled.
-
I hope so, Jay!
I don't review as much as I used to do = lots of grandma duties, but I so appreciate Pam's joie de vivre and creativity.

Excellent promo for Pam's book, Jay. I just bought it and I am looking forward to reading it. I loved the sample pages I read. This is a nice service you've done for Pam, and I'm sure she appreciates it. You certainly piqued my interest in this book. I've got a couple of grandkids that fit right into this age range, but I have a feeling I will delight in it just as much. Jim

Jim, I know you've made Pam's day with your words -- especially that you purchased it. You and your grandkids will enjoy it, I know.

Nicely posed. Well done.
And how kind of you to promote Pam's work so ingeniously. How you embedded a link is totally beyond me. Amazing to a real geezer, and not just someone with a little age on them. (smiley face here)
Best wishes.

Embedding a link is a snap, if you have MS Word. All you do is Type out what the word or phrase is. In this case it is the name of her book, "Explore New Worlds". Then I went to that Amazon's Book page and copied the "address" (starting with "Https") On the upper ribbon of word, select "Insert" and find "hyperlink". Click on that. It opens the window: with the title appearing under "Text to Display". Drop down to the bottom where there is an "address box". Paste the address you had copied and click on "OK". The word you've selected turns to an underscored blue. That is your hyperlink. You can paste it directly into your post on FanStory.
And there you have it. It works on anything from the internet. Not just Amazon. I use it a lot for non-fiction when I'm quoting a source, such as the title of an article. If you have any questions, ask away.

I'll probl'y never use it, but I preserved you instructions. Thanks. They were clear and succinct.

Shit, I should have hired you for my marketing agent. This was a lovely review. You pulled at the sometimes hidden, sometimes not so hidden inner child in all of us. I'll have to check it out on my computer wen I get a chance. Great job. Gretchen

Thank you for sharing this with us. I saw the paperback for $10.00, that's a good deal. I enjoyed reading the introduction to it and am waiting for my book. You did a good service here.
