'News' these days leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion. We are fed on a daily diet of gossip, scandal and stories that could pass for thriller fiction. I think we are treated shabbily. kay

You story put things into perspective. Some people seem find it facinating to watch the royals in England although they are people no different from us except for the money. Some people get all worked up over a two minute horse race but when something that alters lives forever happens. People say the other party is going to use this to try to come after our guns. We have to dig in. We can't let that happen.

You story put things into perspective. Some people seem find it facinating to watch the royals in England although they are people no different from us except for the money. Some people get all worked up over a two minute horse race but when something that alters lives forever happens. People say the other party is going to use this to try to come after our guns. We have to dig in. We can't let that happen.

I agree with you on the responsibilities of the political front to take action, but I don't think thoughts and prayers should be turned down from anyone. We are in a foreign land and it's a terrible time in this country. First gun laws should be altered. Not gun bans. Deeper and more lengthy checks should be done. But in my humble opinion I think our mental health system is terrible. There should be labels. People who have violent tendencies and homicidal thoughts should be turned down completely for guns. As for the illegal alien part, he was deported 4 prior times. That's a story for a whole other day. You are very correct about the responsibility of our leaders. Sadly, I doubt we will see a change. I came here to party with Willie Nelson, but found you home reading the morning news instead. So which one was more important for me to get to first. Well here I am. And I am 100% with you on your last question. As far the queen and king, never did care. I didn't like the guy when Diana was still alive and that hasn't changed. Kentucky Derby, nah don't care about that either. But I have been hearing about the killings and I couldn't care more! At least it would be hard to. My heart and stomach get sick every time I hear of cases like this. I agree that it is the same as ignoring it if we send the wrong guy for the wrong job. I wouldn't hire a bartender to do a plumbing job I needed done. And we do need more consoling at a time like this. Especially those of you so near the situation, like the people of Texas as a whole. Automatic assault weapons have no place in society.
MN just did something that we have been waiting for years to see. 45 gang members arrested last week after a sting operation that took years finally paid off.
They did the right job (about time tho) that was for them to do. They are the law enforcement.
Yes, we do need to see the clergy representing the real problem solver Himself, and let them offer consoling and helpful prayers.

What I would like to see (pray for) is for those politicians to be filmed actually 'on' their knees sincerely, praying, not as the hypocrites do, to be seen by others, but as those who fervently desire evil to stop. And then go into chambers and vote accordingly.

You have made valid points in this post. I would like to see our society get back to moral and respect. Without religion, whatever that may look like, we will continue to have violent crime. I knew about the Allen, Texas shooting but haven't seen the facts about it. I know the Houston shooter, was an illegal alien and had been deported 4 or 5 times. Also, the police had been to his house on numerous occasions because of reports of shooting guns in his yard. Why weren't they confiscated then?
The sons don't talk to each other as there is a feud in the family. (other because there)
