I love your optimistic attitude. You are blessed not to have money worries. I share that, as my husband was that I was well provided for. I've seen the ads for Visiting Angels on TV, and it looks like they are able to provide the quality care you need. September seems pretty far away, but it'll be here before you know it. All the best as you prepare for that knee surgery. It is amazing what the doctors can do. There are advancements being made all the time. All the best to you, and take care. judi

We are both blessed to not have money issues that is true. I am glad your husband provided for your needs after he passed away. And you are right, September will be here before I know it!
All the more reason why I need to exercise before the operation to prepare for my surgery!

I enjoyed reading your post with your positive outlook for the future. Interestingly, I have arthritis in my knee which causes me to get wobbly when I stand. It's arthritis. I saw a specialist, and he recommended a shot, which I agreed to. Best of luck to you. judi

Good luck with the shot of cortisone. I had one, and it didn't help me...but then, my arthritis is wrong for a shot. I need surgery to entirely replace my knee. I will need all the luck I can get!

I loved reading the following:
Now on to what the excitement is all about. After the next and final surgery on my right knee, I will be able to walk.

Walking, not just with a walker, but eventually, walking with no aid at all.

And not just walking, but hiking up and down and over tree limbs, as well as, stepping with my bare toes on the beautiful sandy beach.

These are the goals I have been working for, and, with determination, I will finally achieve my dreams of a lifetime.

When first reading your review I wasn't certain of the fan story friends rooting for me but since then, they are rooting for me and I now believe I never should have doubted them. I've read some of the other reviews you've gotten in the past. You practically have a cheerleading squad! Everyone understands the struggles you've been through and, like me, respects the courage and optimism with which you face them -- not to mention the courage it takes to share your journey with us. Everyone is definitely behind you, and I'll gladly lead your cheer squad. (Just don't put me at the top of a cheerleader pyramid. I have balance issues! 😉)

This time next year you'll be running the marathon. Now you have a date, you have something to really plan for once you can walk again. Think of all the fun times you'll be having. I had one 8 years ago, and they have improved the replacement knee a lot now. Instead of only lasting 10 years, they last a life time now. I'll have one of those when this one wears on. And the speed this year is already passing by, you'll be in surgery before you even know it. Good luck, and enjoy it! :)) Sandra xx

Thanks, Sandra, for the encouraging comments and for reminding me of all the fun things I will be able to do after the surgery is through. I have also heard that the replacement knees are much better than before and I just know I will be jumping for joy after it is done!

You will. You'll not know yourself. But don't expect it to happen the next day. You'll have to build up your muscles again, and be careful going up and down the stairs. Make sure you do the exercises they tell you to do at home. It all helps to hurry the healing process. I'm really happy for you, my friend. xx
