I think its hysterical that Seth calls her dog Furball. Like it isn't officially a real dog. I liked the added intrigue of the birth mothers boyfriend and extortion. This story is amazing up the suspense. Great job, Barbara.

Thank you for this kind review. Seth will eventually learn that there is a dog under that fur. LOL

You create an atmosphere of fear and suspense on the return to Emma's cabin. The relationship between Seth and Emma seems to have 'potential'.
You manage the conversation very well.

Nicely written, Barbara. The mystery deepens as we wonder who it is that has broken into Emma's house and what do they want? And now we find out Emma was adopted, and she doesn't even know it.
You're keeping me in suspense, as I'm not quite sure where you're going with this, but it's certain that Emma and Seth are growing closer in the process. Great job! Jim

I'm gone. I was enjoying the dialog when you hit me with "that thing you call a dog." That killed me. The story is awesome so far. If you insist on putting in zingers like that, you are going to knock me out time and time again. Awesome!
