What a feud! As you stated in the beginning, you would think with only two neighbors in the area, the two would figure out how to get along. It's a good thing the women got along and could handle the situation like adults.
You have an engaging narrative voice. I was hooked from the first.
Wish I had a six left.

Thank you, and thanks for the compliment. When I write I imagine myself telling someone the story. Those two guys were enemies until the day they died. Bob passed away first, then Desi a couple of years later.

An interesting story. The flow is good. The images are clear. The narrative stays on point. The story meets the contest rules. The end shows the realities of life, people don't really change.

Thank you. I found it almost humorous at times. Mostly, I thought it sad that two adult men could carry such grudges forever.

Is it any wonder that the world is always at war when neighbours can't get on? Here in the UK neighbours have killed one another because of arguments about ahedge or a tree. Beggars belief.

Thank you. I was afraid those two would someday wind up doing physical harm to one another. I think why it didn't was because Bob was a typical bully; make a lot of noise but run if confronted. I never saw Desi back down for anyone.
