Did you happen to see on TV the biggest toad recorded? Euthanased it, now on display at museum. Great poem, I hate those cane toads, kill a dog in five minutes. Some dogs are licking them and get high on the poison. Like crocodiles, my least favorite creepy critters!

Aussie, I had not but am going go to google it. It sees many unseen things lurk in many swamps and ponds around our globe that could kill even us.

Poor toad. This is a great rhymed 3 line poem with 25 words as per the contest requirement. I like the personal tone of it. I only would suggest removing the comma after the word But in the third line. Nice post.

Thanks much.

Ugh! One of my least favourite creatures, but even so I hate to think of that horrid ending. However you constructed a witty poem with twenty-five words, and even included rhyme, so well done. Best wishes!!

Comment from Mary Shifman
It's a good poem but poor toad! You know, like "I saw the truck explode before the toad could implode!" Just kidding, too many words. It is a cute poem.

Yes, indeed.

This fun rhyming 25 word poem hit's the spot! (pardon the pun!!) LOL. I probably shouldn't laugh at the poor toad's expense but here in Aus the big Can Toads need eradicating as they are destroying everything so I feel I can spare a smile here!! Creatively written!

I am sure, after that toad imploded, the buzzards begin to circle around to have themselves a meal. This was a good poem for the contest. With only 25 words you were able to paint a picture in my mind. Patricia.

Thanks, poor Kermit 😉

Well, you did it! I'm glad you didn't choose an image that presented the aftermath of that truck's destruction!
Witty words for this contest. Good luck!

Pam, yes, poor Kermit. 🥹

Bye-bye to that toady boy.
That is what he gets for trying to cross the street with traffic coming.
Three strong rhymes - toad/road/implode.
Being run over no doubt it violently exploded inward.
Road kill awaits.

You met the word count for a 25-word open. What I have to say is, "poor toad." I do feel a bit of sadness when I see the carnage on the road. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Oh God, why was that vehicle in more of a hurry? It had to destroy me?
Just a measly hopping amphibian is happy as used to be!
But now that I'm gone I'll never again be able to linger on.
So I must now say goodbye forever and ever me?
Oh my!!
Thanks for sharing this and have a blessed day.
