A well-written poem. The flow is good. The rhymes are unforced. The narrative stays on point. The language is simple and declarative. The picture fits with the poem well.
Suggestion:
On that Sunday 2,3335 souls would be lost.
You have a typo in the number. Either too many digits or the comma in the wrong spot.
Thanks for a good read.

I flew into Hawaii on December 7, 1988, and my thought was about all the lives lost in the name of war. I had a friend who was a little girl during the bombing. She remembers the terrifying noise from those bombs and seeing the huge craters in the streets, where some bombs went array. You did a great job. Shirley

I've thoroughly enjoyed reading the posts for this contest. Yours is one of my top choices. Said profoundly, vividly and to the point.
Ironic, I think each post accounted for different total of deceased.
Best of luck, John

I guess in war some mistakes can be made, such an audacious attack by the Japanese, the German nation and the Japanese are/were warrior nations, but they both picked on countries that were two big for them, bullies tend to do that. Beautifully written Earl, blessings Roy
Typo : (2,3335) 2,335?

Thank you for sharing this tribute writing prompt to the Greatest Generation. Yes, they understood what it's like to be an American. Not the generation we have today who are aggrieved about everything. I enjoyed reading.
