This is a very touching story. What a lovely lady she was to go out of her way to donate to the cause. It was also an enormous gift that you were the sort of person who accepted her generosity with kindness an appreciation.Thank you for sharing.

This is a very nice and well written post. I used to help with that organization when I was working many years ago. My mother died of lung cancer. Any kind of cancer is not good to have. Thank you for sharing. Blessings, Teri

A small donation from a poor man can be be much more significant than a rich man who would be struggling to give away what he has, like Bill Gates. The woman that gave two mites in the temple in the gospels gave her entire "wealth" well done Terry, blessings Roy

This reminds me of my oldest son donation his birthday money to a toy drive for needy children. I told him I would donate and he could keep his. He shook his head and told me I could give as well. It was a valuable lesson to me as well. Great story. Amazing how little moments like that make the big impact. Well written. Gretchen

Sometimes the need is overwhelming, and I wonder how what little I can offer can possibly make a dent in anything. Thank you for your timely reminder.

I would like to add something here, Terry. There's so much more to give here than money. So much more. People need physical help too. They need people to visit them, and care about them. Sometimes it's not just about the money.
Susan :)

Thank you for sharing this, Terry, and for contributing your time to this wonderful organization. My mother and oldest brother died of a metastatic lung cancer and my sister, Suzanne, is a breast cancer survivor.
A kind donor paid my mother's remaining $50,000 oncology bill. I am forever grateful to generous donors at every level. Sending you my best today as always,
