Praise God that He is our perfect Heavenly Father and He has made it possible for us to be His children through the work of Jesus our Lord. Great poem to show us that we are covered in Christ and so are not rejected.

I looked at the picture and then read your title: Would we reject your child? and wondered, Who is "we"?
And I don't get the part, "I know I should make father sad, and yet I know I make him glad." And then, the part about the home SHOULD be a refuge.
I'm obviously missing something, here. Would you care to explain your meaning, Roy?
And the last bit of your author's notes...
Thank you,
Katharine

This is a very good poem but a rather shocking picture. Those kids look so sad. Could it be they do not yet know that Jesus is their friend and protector?

Yes, we need the Lord now more than ever! All ages! Our world is a mess and WWIII approaches. Putin has escalated his attacks on Ukraine since Monday. President Biden is meeting with with world leaders about what to do. Please pray and this will affect us all as the Lord's return is close.
Pray the gospel will go forth in mighty power! Sending you my best today as always,

Powerful image and fine words. I was a bit confused by "I know I should make Father sad, and yet I know I make Him glad".
Did you mean "I know I do make Father sad/ And yet I also make Him glad" ... Not sure why you know you "should" make Father sad ...?
Otherwise, I enjoyed the rest of it.

Your poem was well presented, Roy. The lines and rhymes
worked well. Your first line is true of man, but of God. Yes,
parents sometimes reject their child(ren). However, God would
never do so. You gave readers much to think about. Your words
flowed smoothly.
Thanks for the notes, Jan
