As always, I enjoy your conversational style and your relaxed manner of sharing memories that we can all relate to in some way. This, I would think, was a very nice way to commemorate your anniversary on August 3rd.
I can't think of anyone who would be smiling more than Zoe!
I love your use of "over-served" ~ I guess it's the most politically correct way to say inebriated, or just plain soused! Sadly, even without alcohol, I've done my fair share of "contributing chum" on my two forays into deep sea fishing. I never tried after the second time... Too many nasty looks from the crew!
This story confirms that you and Zoe made a great couple--she cooked, and you helped clean. She organized dinner parties, you helped involve all of the guests in conversation.
I could never think of "103" as balmy... I imagine that's an acquired tolerance, or just an out-and-out satirical comment!
Good advice from your doctor friend: You left me with a smile. So glad you and Zoe had so many wonderful years together...although we always wish for one more, don't we?

Karenina, thank you for the review and your fun comments, and I did get and correct the edits you suggested. I did think about posting this story last week, but I had that fiction serial going and I thought that would be too much. Thanks, Terry.

You were "fashionably late" something most women adore!

I enjoyed your informative story, Terry. You are a natural story-
tellar. I liked the relaxed mood you shared this with us. The part
about cleaning was hilarious. I always clean as I go when cooking.
Your dinner parties provided some great bits of information to add
to the flavor of your fun story. I knew all too well what chum was and
how it would possibly fit into the mix.
Thanks for sharing, Jan

I enjoyed reading this collection of tales. I wanted to be helpful and critical, but I don't see any blaring errors. I especially loved the story about Zoe cooking all over the kitchen. As always, thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Thanks for sharing all these wonderful memories with us, Terry. I too cooked like Zoe. Unfortunately, I also did most of the cleaning up. lol Those were wise words from your doctor friend. Young people today need to be taught those lessons. Well written, and an enjoyable read.
One little suggestion: "We would go out in(into) the Gulf of Mexico..." - 'in' is used when someone or something is already in a resting position in an enclosed space, while 'into' is used when someone or something moves to another location which is an enclosed one.

I am so sorry. All my sympathy, not that that ever means anything, but last week must have been hard. This is a terrific story. You really should have put it in the forthcoming Share Your Story Contest, I think. Kate xx

Kate, thank you for your kind comments. I think I have something else in that contest. Terry.
