My daughter lives in Las Vegas, and I do not see how anything can survive there. It is hot. She works outside, and I know it is hard on her. She is an insurance adjuster. However, the place is beautiful. I like your picture. And I bet you like the spring the most. It is so hot in the summer, I bet you could fry an egg on the sidewalk. Good Luck in the contest.

I?ve been to Las Vegas in the summer and, yes, you could fry an egg on the sidewalk. The country I?m describing here is 500 miles north near Reno. Many thanks for sharing my poem, Carolyn.

Oh, in the country would be much better living. You are welcome.

That's very good. Good rhyme and meter, and neat descriptions.
I'll have to tell you when I saw that picture, I thought it was Texas - that's how we look in Spring, too (without the winter melt) - Bluebonnets and Lupines, and Mesquite trees putting on their green.
I loved your descriptions. Sounds like you you need to go for a visit? :)
Very nice poem.

Thank you, Katharine, for your wonderful praise. I am so pleased my words reminded you of your homeland in Texas. I?ve never been to Texas in the Spring and need to add that to my bucket list.

Well, if you do, come before summer. We've been in the hundreds. Our Spring is short lived, but just as you described.
