Most of us have/had dreams but too few organized a plan to have them become fulfilled. Results: As life nears it end those who haven't are disappointed asking if only? Congrats.

Thank you Tom. Yes, you are right. I think "If only ..." are two very sad words. How are you feeling, with your Covid? Hope you're getting better.

I loved reading this and learning more about your motivations and early life. I also like that it's the other side of the usual perspective - you're affected not just by being taught, but by delivering. Wonderfully written, as always, and I very much enjoyed the read.

This is a very inspiring story, Wendy and well written. From all of your writing we know you are a very kind person. I'm happy you became the kind of teacher you dreamed of becoming and received that wonderful praise from a parent. I wonder how the witch teacher didn't get fired immediately.

Thank you for such a wonderful review and six stars! So much appreciated. I am very glad you enjoy my stories. These days that teacher would never have passed her teacher training course, but at that time "children should be seen but not heard" was a popular saying, which she obviously agreed with. Thanks again.

Hi Wendy,

Well, things were certainly different a while back. Most of the teachers would be sacked within days in modern times!

My experiences of teaching I think would vastly differ from yours. I taught kids with epilepsy, learning difficulties and those with social, emotional and behavioural disorders. fun times! lol

All the best
G

Thanks so much for your review. Yes. My Year 2 teacher would certainly be sacked today. She was obviously not cut out to be a teacher of young children. My Grade 5 teacher would probably choose to work in a private Christian school in today's times. I sometimes wonder what impact he had on others. Thanks again.

Wendy, I so wish I had a six for this one. Beautifully written and very touching. It should win the contest as far as I'm concerned. I love your teaching stories. I need to save some sixes for late in the week if you post one of them. The use of the crayons as a metaphor was brilliant. Do you ever miss teaching?

Thank you so much for the thought of a six. I value even the thought of it. (I often am busy early in the week (especially at the moment with the Disaster recovery days being long and tiring, and grandchildren sleeping over, as it's school holidays. Lol. Life gets in the way.) Yes, I do missing teaching. I miss the students (but not all the administrative work as Head of Department). It makes me happy that you enjoy my stories - writing is a new area of fulfilment. Many thanks.
