Yes, you're right, there's a lot of folk, for all intents and purposes that walk unnoticed through life, but are real life heroes, and there are those that life has been kind to and really fail miserably as human beings. Beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

I can sense your strength in believing these waifs are deserving of more. idk. If you want to lie down with pigs, you're going to get dirty. For those with sincere needs, and mental health issues, fine, Throw them a life line but like ads on tevee, what they show you is not what they send you with a purchase. There are street walkers making six-figures. Dress like bums, and driving off in a BMW, blocks away. Skeptical. Approach with caution.

yes you are wise however, Tom as a veteran I see too many veterans on the street due to inadequate mental health treatment - Yes there are bums and dregs of society that can't be helped and must be approached with skepticism.

Amen. I give to one specific charity who is wise with our donations spending them on catastrophes world-wide. Better than my selecting willy-nilly. I also support St. Jude and Shriners. Tried to assist Wounded Warriors but I could not get the app to accept the donation and besides their rating was in the mid-seventies whereas the other were in the nineties.

Yes I dropped Wounded Warriors for the same reason, I tend to contribute time and contributions locally - where I know the organization is doing good works.

It is a sad situation. In America, no one should become homeless, actually no where in the world. There are many that could be trusted. However, there are those you cannot trust. Some of them would hurt or steal from their own family. Thank you for the awareness. Something needs to be done, this is a huge problem.
