Of course you are the porch one, Sandra, LOL. What a great continuation to the story. I'm as fascinated as I'm sure everyone else is. It's also becoming clear that Bessie knows more than she's letting on. This is such wonderful writing, and now I have to wait a week for the continuation. A big hug Ulla xxx

Sandra,
Well, you are certainly setting the reader up for some strange situations and equally strange thoughts. You leave just enough room for us to start doing our own wild guessing, too - which is lots of fun!
Good chapter!

You have set up an intriguing situation hear and I for one am going to enjoy it as part of my holiday reading. You leave us with a bit of a cliff-hanger and anxious to unravel the mystery. I have no idea where this is going except that I reckon it will leave me trailing.

We're neck and neck at the moment! Lol. No, you are still posting twice a week, so you'll be number one again this week.
Thank you so very much for that sixth star, my wonderful friend!! I'm looking forward to reading yours. I'll pm you. :)) Sandra xxx

Only briefly. I will be leaving the field open after posting on Wednesday. Holiday in Feb and Poetry Class in March. Back again in April by which time you should be untouchable.

This is exciting and makes we want to know more. Bessie indicated earlier she would be willing to share what she know but she saying much. She does seem surprised at anything. I anxious to hear more. I'm would be very spooked at this point.

Thank you so much for another lovely review, dear Beth. I'd be out of that house faster than a gale force wind! But, that wouldn't give me a story!! Lol. Margot will learn more soon. Have a wonderful week, my friend. Warm hugs, Sandra xx

Ahh! So Bessie does know more than she cares to share but prefers Margot to piece things together on her own. I doubt the young girl will be that patient and will press Bessie for answers. I don't believe Miles was dead because it seems too simple for a bride to simply say, " Well, if I can't have Miles, I'll never marry. Sent away somewhere or imprisoned. It seems she'd be more dramatic in her diary writing...crying if he was dead. Maybe it's just impatient me trying to figure it out...LOL
Nice job! Left the reader wondering but not terrified of what is going to happen.
Smiles and hugs and all my love, of course...Your friend always, Carol

Thank you, Carol. I like the way you are reading this and coming to some sort of conclussion, all of which are .... wrong! You're right in that Miles was still alive and kicking. And you will have to be a bit more patient. Margot will suss things out soon, and not in a way she was expecting. Thanks, my friend. I enjoyed reading your review. Love and hugs, back! :)) Sandra xxx

I am glad I am wrong because that makes it far more interesting of a read. I must find the clues and see where your wiley ghosts will take me. My fogged brain needs to get a bit sharper. Hugs, Carol

You're doing well, my dear Carol. Your little stories are brilliant. You'll soon be back to your novel again. Love you! xx

I've been struggling all morning to try and write again on it, but we shall see. I know the story but the words in my head just don't compute to paper. Thanks!

Don't rush it, it will come to you when it's ready. xxx

I hate unfinished business, especially when it involves my efforts. I try to write, and then I have to be involved in tests or with children, DCFS, or other nerve-wracking stuff. I know what I feel and want to write, but it doesn't come out. It's flat!

This is an enthralling read, Sandra, full of mystery and marvel. I'm already looking forward to the next chapter. I don't believe in ghosts or the supernatural, but it makes very good material for writing. Keep up the great work.
