Very nice story, very well told. If that is the cat picture, I didn't realize Warhol did animals, not that I studied Warhol when I thought I was a serious artist. I wasn't, but I think I'm doing better as a writer. Now I appreciate Warhol more than then. And I really appreciate you found humor instead of embarrassment in being thought gay.

Thank you very much. The artwork is from 1954, in a series called "In the Garden." His mother had a cat named Sam, and he did a book called: 25 Pussies Named Sam. Terry.

Sadly, Zoe died three years, we had no children, so Kirby gets the Warhol when I die, it is in my will. Thank you for the review! Terry.

This is a great story about prejudice and preconceptions that can be purely invented, rather than 'real' prejudices that people feel. As such I found it interesting to see how easily we can be placed into stereotypes

I'm not sure if this was really a case of prejudice as much as an assumption on the guys part. I think it would have mattered more if he said he fleeced the older gay guy. Good luck in the contest.

If that is Warhol's watercolour in your artwork, it is very well done. He was an icon for the Gay community, so I suppose this "assessment" albeit incorrect was part of the folklore and legend that surrounded the sale of the blue cats. This is one fine example of the fallacy of correlation and causation, out which arises often incorrect assumptions that can be quite damaging.
What a fine and most unique true story, so I wish you great luck with the Contest Committee. I truly enjoyed this. :))

I was a competitive sportsman when younger and was used to locker room banter, which hallmarked all the social prejudice one can get, somehow collective cavemanship was more manly than anything, how wrong can one be!
