Mothers are great, Roy, and you have commemorated yours very nicely, especially in your notes. There are things that we put on our Christmas tree every year that have been passed down through generations.

Great piece showing your mother's love to all, esp. her granddaughter.

Loved the flow of the rhyme as it sang its story. It brought memories of many loved ones long ago at Christmas. I have a similar story of my mother and me.

The true gifts of Christmas: Jesus the Christ. My single mother worked very hard, especially at Christmas. I can relate to a simpler time when gifts were thoughtful and the meal was well praised along with the one who gave His all. Sending you my best today as always and blessings for Christmas,
Sal XOs...

A beautiful message, Roy, coupled with a beautiful memory "painstakingly knitted" by your mother. What a lovely treasure for your daughter to cherish - and her children - for years to come!

Inspiring in both form and content.

Thank you for sharing!

There comes a time in our lives when darkness surrounds us and lures us to gloomy thoughts. Things feel too desolate; hope seems to be lost somewhere far away from our reach. In such dark times, what gives us motivation is the power of God. He inspires us with his teachings, This is a beautifully penned, smooth flowing poem about Christ. Your notes about your daughter Rebecca and her love and respect for her grandmother is very touching.

Another lovely flow. I really liked 'God's lamb was born' and 'wore frail flesh', the only thing that got me was grieved for reprieve just because of the rhyme in the one sentence but that's just me.
Either way well done my friend.

I loved this poem and the thought that your mother knitted a complete Nativity and gave it to your daughter Rebecca and each year she gets it out for a position pride of place, this says a lot for the love that exists in your family which I think is lovely. God Bless and have a great Christmas.

This brought memories of when I was wee lad during WW2. Living on an arsenal with both parents working around the clock Our Christmas was sometimes skimp.

This is a beautifully rhymed and smoothly metered poem about the birth and death of Christ and what it did fo us. I love decorating for Christmas too. I have several nativity scenes. I think the one in the photo is a nice one.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Merry Christmas
Joan

What a beautiful and thoughtful gift for your mother to knit a whole nativity set for her granddaughter and I am glad she cherishes it. Such things passing through the generations, along with faith are so precious. Thank you for sharing.
