Absolutely true that there are no winners. Families divided is a shame. I just hope that Emily doesn't regret her decision later. However, each one is free to make what they consider o be the best decision for themselves, and there are consequences to all choices. Each at least accepts and respects the choice of the other. At least they can Zoom.

So true. It's a stalemate, alas.

Two stubborn people are in the war. It's nice they find a way to see each other via Zoom. What a great invention. I have a colleague who has divorced and recently I recently introduce him a very nice woman of his age and also working in the same company as an engineer. But they can't date because my colleague refuses to get a vaccine jab. She doesn't want to date a vaccine doubter.

Those are quite the dilemmas. But at least she can visit virtually. I find it harder to meet in person and not be sure to distance myself or hug by accident. I hope that Emily will feel more comfortable to get the vaccine now that it has been FDA approved.

I'm with you--I don't even zoom--still, I'd rather just speak by phone than see someone with a mask and have to stay distanced.

A perceptive piece of writing. Unfortunately this is the way things should work. A personal choice comes with consequences.
A good story. The flow is good. The language is concise. The case is put forward without editorializing on who is right or wrong. But you are right both lost on some level.
Thank you for a good read.

You are welcome.

I hear you, Elizabeth. The decisions people are making and choosing not to make during this pandemic have driven a wedge between many people and there may not be time or opportunity to heal those rifts.
Thanks for sharing this.
Write on,
