Your poem is well thought out, Roy. It presentation is superb--the color scheme, the image, the end rhymes, and the great, and true, message. You give readers much to ponder, then add a firsthand experience in your notes. Your lines read well with great imagery.
Respectfully, Jan

"Ever Saint has a past. every sinner has a future."
Father George ...Florida.
Many have taken the psycho path; escaping to the high path after visiting "Dante's Inferno."
Some say, "too soon old, too late smart."
Wrong, it is never too late.

I not only admire you as a writer but also as a man of deep faith who has the courage to tell his story for the benefit of others.
This poem pulls no punches in how any addition makes one a slave to her demands.
Blessings to you Roy

I enjoyed (if that's the right word. I think not. Perhaps appreciated?) this poem very much. I found it to be extremely powerful, with a clear message - cast off the evil of addictions. As a readily compulsive terrain, I found it easy to identify with.

You have personified 'addiction' as a vile temptress .Rightly too. Your poem carries the conviction of a sufferer who was saved in the nick of time....
From Iyenochka's poem I understand it is your birthday .Happy Birthday Roy and many many happy returns of the day....
wishes from India.

I admire you courage to share your story here on FanStory, Roy. It is inspiring and may help those who are looking for the hope you describe. This is another of your beautiful poems.

I enjoyed reading your poem. God can and will work miracles in our lives, we just need to ask Him and allow Him.
drunken alcoholic (aren't they the same??? I'm not trying to be difficult. I'm honestly asking.)

Dear sweet Prophet, you bear your soul so that others may understand that their sins, no matter how great, can be forgiven. The strongest believers are those who have fallen short of glory, reached up their hand and heart, and been healed. A very wonderful piece of writing.
