From my limited guesswork, I would have to say that the more direction given would probably be received quite well. An experienced director would be able to adjust accordingly. So I don't see a problem with this. And you bright, imaginitive and will navigate this perfectly. Great shift, and a sensible one. Well done Jay. Great writing, blessings Roy

Thank you for your thoughts on the subject, Roy. It is satisfying to write this play and I am happy to see it's being well-received. Who could ask for more?

Good job Jay

I've been deliberately avoiding reviewing these scripts as I feel manifestly unqualified to comment on the genre. However, I decided I should at least take a look, and I have been gobsmacked by the way in which you have approached this delicate subject. Your detailed stage directions make effect almost operatic. A work of genius.

Oh my Goodness. To have someone I admire so much say such nice things about this play, you're gonna give me the big-head! I've had a good time writing it and others seem to enjoy it, so I'm one happy dude. Thank you, sir!

When Cornelius is so confused he can't articulate at all (as here) I become frustrated. I am obviously not ready for autism. The thing I liked best about this scene was James heading for the office. Obviously in trouble, but swaggering and bragging all the same. And interesting that gang activity folds without him to hold things together.

I can understand your frustration, Katherine. I think he'll become more articulate ... in his way.

High time for a series bonussssss! Stunning and unique, brilliantly rendered. You nailed it with your notes--stage directions are spot-on in the theater of the mind! Indeed, I feel that detailed directions are entirely appropriate--certainly, a creative director is not constrained by them, so no problem! Cheerssssss. LIZ

I'm glad you liked the Author notes. I was criticized heavily on my first act for having too many stage directions, so I thought I'd address it directly. I really appreciate the six stars!
