This was so eerie. I had a dream only once like that. My mother was very superstitious and her greatest fears were snakes and blood. In this dream, I am running through a forest filled with trees and from every tree hang snakes. I have a large machete which I am slashing at the snakes, there is blood everywhere and dead snakes. Bar one. I couldn't kill the last snake I tried my hardest but I couldn't. I heard later from my very Catholic father my mother had died three times throughout a lung removal operation and three times she rallied. sincerely Anne

Your poem is very well done, good rhyming throughout, but tells a sad story. Sometimes dreams are scary and are showing us something that is going to happen. I presume that this is a true experience, and am so sorry you had to go through something like this.

It sounds like this dream - rather this nightmare - was not just a
dream, but a nightmare that became true in the light of day. I have
dreamt things that since became true - thankfully, nothing as horrific

My wife and I still dream that we are still in our previous jobs before retirement, despite being retired for years. We have trouble upon waking that we are no longer doing them, hah hah. Roy my friend, I had the luxury to do a week long dream conference and OMG, the tremendous amount of wonderful things came from this event. Since that immersion in dreamwork, I have had a journal beside my bed, to capture these evening messengers. Much on my poetry comes form these notes.
