I'm so glad you cleared that up Sandra, the tying of loose ends. What mother could ever leave her child to marry her boyfriend in preference, (there's no such thing) the dependant child always comes as a deal with the parent. My children were so precious to us. But we would adopt our grandchildren in an eye blink otherwise, beautifully written Sandra, well done, blessings Roy

Aw, my dear Roy, thank you so very much for this lovely reviewn and the award of the sixth star! Some mothers are like that, I've known a couple. The children suffered in both cases. But, Grant had a grandfather who loved him, and wouldn't allow her to have him adopted out. He grew up to be a nicer person than Colin. You are with your children and grandchildren the same as I am with mine. Nothing could ever come between us. Thank you again, my very dear friend. Lots of love. Sandra xxx

Beautifully done, and I wish I could dish out more sixes, you always deserve them.

She's a duzzy isn't she, Sandra. We can see where the bad side of Colin came from. Grant dodged a bullet when he was saved from spending his childhood with that woman. So happy Tania was rescued and is safe in the hospital, but I don't think we have heard the last from Colin and his vindictive mother. Well done. Nancy:)

Aw, thank you so much for the six stars, Nancy, that is so nice of you, I wasn't expecting any today. No, you haven't heard the last of Colin or his mother, but you will hopefully approve of where Grant and Tania's relationship. :)) Thank you, my friend. I hope you are well, and staying safe, my friend. Warm hugs. Sandra xxx

U R Welcome. Hugs. Nancy:)

I did sense that there was more to this story in the last chapter. Grant, the abandoned child has deep hurt that has invaded his psyche and is engraved within. This mother shows no remorse for her actions and far too much protection for Colin. I notice she has no thought for Tania and what has been done to her. Perhaps she will rue the day she tried to condone what he did. The chapter is a summing up of Grant's life.

Yes, Grant has been carrying a lorry load of hurt in his heart. Now he is feeling guilty about how he has been with Tania. Will she forgive him? Thank you so much, Ralf, for this lovely review. Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

You must realize that by Saturday we don't have any sixes left! You should post on Sunday. LOL

I know, but it went off before I realised. I forgot to save it in preview mode. But, it's not a problem, just so long as I get some nice reviews, which yours was. :)) xxxx

Oh now the mother is playing the poor pitiful me scenario. She is so concerned, and . . . I'm glad Grant can see through her controlling actions. Yes, Sandra, Colin is a deeply disturbed--seems he inherited that from his mother. How sad that she gave Grant up and now claims to be his mother. I liked his reply to her. I'm wondering how she found out about Colin being in the hospital. Who informed her--someone on her payroll? You did a great job with this chapter. I enjoyed reading the part of Grant thinking back to his Grandfather and their discussion. You have added some great tangents to continue this story.
Respectfully, Jan

That's right, now we learn why Grant was a rather brusque and distrusting of Tania, but now he is feeling guilty. It won't be easy over the next few parts, but, there is a light peeping in. Thank you so much for this lovely review, Jan, I do appreciate you a lot. Warm hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xx

I wish you'd wait to post when we get new sixes. This is a great chapter, as usual. What a mother! How could she not see what a monster Colin was. She put all her eggs in the wrong basket, and I hope Grant gets rid of here for good.

It went off by mistake, I forgot to save it in preview mode. I could have stopped it, but thought it wasn't really an issue. I don't mind about the six stars any more, just the positive reviews, which yours is. They are worth more than any six. I'm so pleased you enjoyed this part, things will take a happier route soon, the one everyone has been waiting for. :)) I am such a romantic at heart!! Lol. Thank you my dear, SATP, you review is lovely. Sending you a humongous hug, and lots of love. :)) Sandra xxx

I feel the same way about sixes. I'd rather have a lovely review. When all i said and done, what does it matter as long as someone enjoys one's writing. Bless you, dear SATP. Love you bunches, and sending you hugs.

That is it exactly. I knew we were sisters, we are so alike! :)) xxx

There is usually a reason why monsters are created, and sadly, so many times the blame falls back on those who raised them. And now, we live in a time when so many children practically raise themselves. Have left home a 15, I guess I'm lucky to have raised myself. LOL. Wish I had a six. Thanks for sharing another fine chapter.

Thank you so much, Ric. You're right, so many -- too many children are left to raise themselves, it's so sad. I was lucky, and I made sure my sons were, too. Now my grandchildren have loving stable homes. They do say, what goes around, comes around. Grant was lucky in a way, he had his grandfather who loved him. But it left a sour taste in Grant's mouth. Thank you so much for this lovely review. I hasten to add. You did a good job raising yourself. You're a lovely man. Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

I just wish I had arms long enough to reach across the Atlantic and return your hug in person!

Now, that would be lovely. :)) xxx

Poor Grant, having to deal with family issues on top of everything else. I'm glad he stood a stand with her, set her straight. It's just a shame it had to turn out this way, but she's the one who made it this way. I'd say he's better off without either of them. Your story is well-written very interesting, believable from start to finish. I do hope Tania will be alright. Like always, I look forward to reading more.

Thank you, Misty, for another of your really lovely reviews. Yes, she is not the type of mum I'd have wanted. But there are some like that. So sad. I'm over the moon that you are still enjoying my story. Thanks, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

What is it about some mothers that they think giving birth to someone gives them the right to declare themselves superior? Grant's 'mother' definitely fits into that scenario. The fact that she chose between a man and her baby all those years ago, sums her up perfectly!
Another super chapter, Sandra, and one that has me anxiously waiting for the next!

talk to his him about an issue that had plagued.
I was able to catch this and glad I did. Yo turned it into a bitter-sweet story with a double whammy about the brothers.
Good one Sandy.

I don't have any stars left this late in week, I am sorry. I love the story. Grant's mother is a piece of work. I hope she gets what she deserves.
Whilst away, he'd made up his mind to talk to his him about an issue that had plagued him for years, but, for some reason, had been reluctant to approach. (his him??)
He dropped his eyes to his glass of wine and picked it up, running a finger around the rim. Without taking a sip, he continued. (comma needed hear and the dialogue should be on the same line.)
Grant's stomach was turning over. (passive - active Grant's stomach turned over)
'I'll answer all your questions, officer, just as soon as I've found out where they've taken Miss Russell, and what is happening to her.' (I would say taken Miss Russel and how's she doing.)
Just remember that, Colin's only way out of what he'd done to her, was, quite frankly, to kill her.' (this it correct, but for dramatic effect I would say, frankly, kill her)
Now, if Reg'll lend me his car, I'll go and fetch Monica and tell her a bit of what happened on the way back.' (again wordy, lend me his car, I'll fetch her...)

Thank you so much for this really helpful review, Barbara. I wasn't expecting sixes on a Saturday, but that is exactly what your review is, six star! And I can't thank you enough. Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xx
