Thank you for what you are doing here in memory of a well loved Fanstorian of much longer standing than either of us. I joined in 2015 and well recall her reviews as well as her own writing. S

Thank you, Jim! If you have something to share - a poem or memory, please add it to the book.
Blessings!

This is such a nice tribute to writer JoanE, who you have obviously followed faithfully as to her themes and style. It sounds as if she were well-traveled and loved more cultural details.
One small suggestion:
thoughts in well distlled, succinct verses
I think you mean: well-distilled

Thank you, Crystie! I corrected the missing 'i' but I didn't hyphenate. I like your hyphenated version. Did you know Joan?
Hugs!

No, I did not know her right off.

A beautiful tribute to your friend and fellow writer, I hope she is at peace. I did not know her, but she sounds like a lovely person based on your writing.

Sending my thoughts to JoanE too, Helen. What a beautiful painting of Joan's. She is very talented with a keen eye. I have been wondering where she has been, so thank you so very much for letting us know.
What a lovely tribute to a genuinely warm and talented member of the FanStory community.
Thank you so much always for sharing.

Thank you, Gloria. I was feeling so down - this wasn't the outcome I was praying for. I'm sure you understand as we've lost so many Fanstorians even in just the last two years. Sigh.
Hugs!

Heartfelt tribute--and heartbreaking per the notes. I'd hoped that she simply departed StoryLand. Your elegant writing brings Joan to glorious life.

I have never gotten to know people on the site like you have. I thought we were not supposed to and then I am so shy that I do not open up very well. I admit I am an abuse survivor which is part of the problem. I will pray for your friend. That I can successfully do. Your husband will be in my prayers also.

Thank you so much, Annie. Appreciate that you took time to read the notes and the reason for this book post. I'm hoping others will share. Joan is very private so she would understand your shyness. Hugs!

I think I reviewed her work before. I recognize her from her picture. We both have been to Iceland and I have been the church she was talking about.
Human life is very fragile and we should appreciate everyday.
Well done.

Oh no, so sad. I will certainly pray for her. She sounds like a wonderful, warm and gracious lady who has lived a rich life, loving others and learning from them. What a beautiful tribute you have written for her, and her husband will be delighted by it.

Thank you, Wendy! I don't know if he would be ready yet to hear from other Fanstorians. When the time is right, the Lord will nudge me to send another message. Hugs!

I'm sure you must have read her works as she always had her works promoted very high. Thanks, Raul, for the kind words and the generous rating, too!

What a beautiful painting. Joan did of that scene. You were so thoughtful, Helen to include it with your awesome tribute to Joan. I remember her many travel poems of the places visited. She always wrote about the interesting things she found on those trips. My prayers are with her and her family in this difficult time.
Thanks for sharing and caring.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you so much, Jan. Please let me know if you hear back from the community. I'm wondering if her closest friends have left Fanstory as not many are even recognizing her. Hugs!
