I really like this minute poem because you are able to SUSTAIN THE PEACEFUL MOOD throughout. We can almost hear the moon's songs as it lulls the Speaker back to sleep. And the artwork chosen is perfect! Rod

Thank you Dolly. I began to write it while I was sleepy, so I attribute the theme to the Sandman. :). Hugs, my friend. Enjoy your sunny afternoon.

You have mastered the minute poem for sure. This minute is almost as good as your tankas. I'm actually going to bookcase this one as an example of how to do a proper minute poem. Or at least, it's the style that I want to master. You make three lovely observations and then build on them with four-syllable images. Your last line gives the poem closure. It's the perfect ending. You also choose rhymes that are moving in themselves--like sighs, lullabies; caress, peacefulness.
Beautiful.

What a lovely minute poem! So peaceful and soothing - and would appeal to readers - old and young. Love the illustration. God knows we could all use a lullaby now after this past year. Should do well in the contest, Melissa.

Beautifully written! The wonderful moon lulling one to sleep with a tune presents great, peaceful imagery. One of my favorites I've read to date, just lovely. Thanks for sharing.
