This is another wonderful snowy story. I can feel your excitement and joy of playing in the snow as a child or an adult. There is just something special about the once a year, white, freezing cold blanket of snow.

Dear JLR, how many writing clubs have you joined?
It seems to me I have spent the morning reviewing the wonderful poems that you have posted for at least the Free Versers and this one.
I love how you have written this one post as if you were a child, and perhaps you are, inside.

Hi dear friend, just three clubs... and I do let my child out to play sometimes.

As someone who's never seen snow in person, I'm jealous. I want to wear woolens, sled down slopes, and make snow angels too.

Thanks for sharing,
George

Your poem's skipping, irregular rhythm and internal rhymes here and there is a great way to portray the energetic excitement of a snow day for play through a child's eyes.

A minor correction:
hoping I had my Angel wings sown (sewn) on! ('sown' is about planting crops.)

LisaMay, the intention of this was from the eyes of a frolicking child.

I remember those deep snows during my childhood in Ohio. Now, I live in Tennessee, where we barely get a flake. What a wonderfully written poem. Best of luck with your writing!

Have a great day, and God bless.

Mike we were tougher in the days, I think. Couldn?t stay out of doors in the cold and snow too long now. LOL.

This poem, Frolicking, is a terrific look at snow hill fun with other youth on an otherwise gentle, passive slope. The thrill of sliding fast down the icy paths brings young hearts to a moment of flight. Fun to read.

I found this:
trill out a loud
(a) shrill shriek

This would be just the thing to do during this pandemic if we had enough snow. Right now we don't here in Toronto. So your free verse with its good imagery and alliteration spells out the fun we may have soon. Not me though, I'm too old.

Ralf, we both are beyond those tempting days of playing to utter exhaustion.
