Oh, this is a beautiful but very sad story, told so well. The realisation of who Santa was triggered your renewed grief for a much more serious and dreadful loss, that of your mother and baby sibling. And seeing your father's deep sadness on top of it all. Your whole world, and the last piece of magic and brightness, was now crumbling. Well written. Best wishes for the contest.

Oh, that was such a sad story. I didn't agree with your older sister's insistence that your Dad tell you and Kitten the truth about Santa right then, particularly if it was during the Christmas holidays. But that's beside the point. He did do it, and the aftermath was the point of the story. Again, so sad!
"Yes." Dad looked so sad. He got up, turned of the lights [... turned OFF the lights...]
While you are in edit mode and correcting the above error, why not correct your spacing between some of you paragraphs. It makes for a more pleasurable read, and therefore the judges will look at it more favorably.
God Bless You.

Oh, that is so sad. I remember that you posted how your mother made Christmas so magical. I don't know why your older sister insisted that your Dad had to confess. Perhaps she needed her younger sisters to grow up faster. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes in the contest!
Kitten was Cathy age six and I had (suggest comma after Cathy)

Thanks for the review and comments I will give Cathy a comma.
Rose wanted Dad to tell us because there would be no celebration or presents that year.

Your story is so very sad. I'm not sure when it dawned on me that there was no real Santa. We came from an Amish/Mennonite stock (Long ago) so I guess there was only God...Which is much more to me.
