Good morning, Yvette.
Excellent 80 word story. We former kids appreciated the small gifts we received from loved ones when they were sick. A 2-pound paperweight increases in value ten-fold when it is bequeathed to us from.a loved one.
Excellent story! I think you'll do really in the contest!
Best wishes,
Cindy.

Love that term, Cindy: former kids... sometimes I'm pretty sure the former could be eliminated as a descriptor, don't you? ;) :) Thanx so much for your review on this short write, my lady -- your support is so appreciated! ;) Yvette

It's amazing how much memories a few words like these could evoke. My now grown son would always hide a small treasure box we had as decoration on the table and he would put a little toy in it. He would always say "I buried my treasure mommy." This piece brought back that beautiful memory and made me smile. Thank you so much for that.
Love and blessings.

What a moving and treasured review, my lady!! To know you found a memory to warm you amidst the story here, really means a lot!! ;) :) THANK YOU!! ;) :) You know, eighty word's not much, and I worry on these short ones that I might miss points 'in my head' and forget to 'spell them out' for the reader... so glad you really enjoyed! ;) Take care! ;) Yvette

Aw, that was a really cute ending.
The 'treasure' was a rabbit - I'd never have guessed
I enjoyed your flash fiction Yvette :)
Grandpa's magic trunk must've had some woodworm holes or something in it to enable the bunny to breathe overnight!
Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes, Debra :)

A very well-written eighty-word flash fiction about the magical gift from grandpa that happens exactly as he promised. When they will is read Katy received the floppy bunny in the magic trunk.

Aww, Yvette, that was a super smiley story, I loved it. I could just imagine that little girl's face when she opened the trunk, and all the disappointment on the other peoples' faces. LOL. You did well with this one, my friend, I enjoyed it. Good luck in the contest! :) Sandra xx

Dear child, and a very smug daddy who stuffed the bunny in the lovely chest, it's a great find for the little girl. The thing that struck is the innocence of the little girl, beautifully writte Yvette, good luck, blessings Roy

I really enjoy this flash fiction with a surprise in the end. Yes. Kids are the smartest and living thing is priceless. Rabbit can provide love and companionship for her for a long time. If a rabbit can jump out from it, what else could it produce?
Well done.

I guess it is a challenge but it is fun to do so. You are also writing many books at the same time. I'm trying to publish second book but constantly getting distracted to write more work. I have three other half-written books at least.
