This poem is just wonderful, Beth. So many of the memories were like mine. I enjoyed every verse. I couldn't pick out a favorite verse. You were certainly on a roll. A six for sure. The picture was well chosen too.xxx Nancy:)

I enjoyed reading your rhyming contest entry. The rhyming scheme was very good. I remember some of the same things. Children of today doesn't have it nearly as wonderful. Thank you for sharing and good luck.

What a beautifully written, interesting story/ poem, sharing all the wonderful memories that you have. Your word choice, the description made me feel like I was there with you, stepping back in a more peaceful, quieter time. I wish I had a six to give, but I'm all out.

This is a wonderful poem, replete with touching memories of a country childhood - as far as I read. To be frank, Beth, it was too much of a good thing, until it reached a point of diminishing returns. (I had planned to rate it six stars, before I lost interest due to the overload.)
(In my writing, I have found it's important to stop and reevaluate, from time to time, even if everything is going along smoothly.)

Thank;you so much Don, I really appreciate the wonderful review and comments. I'm sorry it was too long for your. I write for myself and wanted all those memories in there. You were the only one who mentioned length, and I've never gotten so many sixes on one before. It can't be right for everyone. :-)
