I absolutely love the moral of this fable; the simplicity of the language permits the reader to reflect on one's own "meow." One comment I would make on word choice is that the phrase "yet, now" seems somewhat clumsy and could perhaps be replaced with "yet, was braver and stronger now" instead.

Your fable is well received using animals as the
characters. Deception works well and the cat loses
her voice.
Our voice is a great liberty to own. Once lost we
lose identity and freedom.
Peace,
Richie

They can't take his meow away, especially a dog. Cats don't say ruff. Haha, kidding! No grammatical errors. Excellent work! Thanks for sharing! Good luck in the contest!

A fascinating story about the cat losing its meow. And the moral works along that line as well! Keeping quiet is not always the right thing to do when right versus wrong. I hope I never lose my meow!

Well this story has a moral that makes sense because sometimes it is easy to become afraid to speak when there are those who intimidate us into being quiet. It is best to be brave and let our voice be heard.

I enjoyed your moral. I think we all could use that reminder from time to time. I stumbled over the following line: "It had been hiding; yet, now was braver and stronger." It just threw me out of the story. But, don't let me chase your "meow" away!

I have to give you my last six star. The only thing about talking, think before you speak. I have never had cats, so the cat mew-ow has never been around. We've always had dogs, and sometimes a dog will do enough barking for each animal (cat, dog).

Aww, what a sweet story, and the moral is excellent. I think this should do very well in the contest. It is certainly easy enough to give in to bullies, and your 'mangy mutt' was not only a bully, but sneaky too -- charming when he wanted kitty to join him.

That is an excellent modern fable, and I agree with it, too. We must be allowed to say our piece even if it isn't what the other person wants to hear. This is really well done and I wish you the best of luck in the contest. :) Sandra xx

Very cute. I really liked your moral. I suggest that you could have written a little more about why Cat chose to trust him. There was very little persuasion on his part. I know I've learned when someone says trust me...that's a very big red flag, lol. I enjoyed your work.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. I'm glad you enjoyed this fable. I kept it simple and within the word limits. However, maybe I'll make it a bigger story later. Appreciate your suggestion.
