Awww, hell, Lady Di -- I'm crying again!! You do this to me and I'm looking for the damn Kleenex box... Gosh, this was just so full of heart, so full of love, such a beautiful portrait of a relationship that will NOT be broken by the veil between here and there... Crap! There I go again...!! This is beautiful, Diane - nothing else need be said, my friend! ;) Best of luck in the contest (although I cannot freaking imagine anything topping this...)! ;) Love ya! ;) Yvette

Oh dear Yvette,
This one was a toughie to write = not wanting my words to be maudlin or trite, but hoping that I could somehow convey exactly what you just shared.
You would have loved my mom, Yvette: creative, giving, true, honest and feisty. One of a kind... (I may have inherited the feisty part... :) )
So pleased my words made you cry. I consider that a win! :) :) :)
Raining like crazy here; that's a good thing! :)
Thank you again!
love ya!

Blessings Mrs. KT. I loved this Mother;'s day poem. It sparked in me several memories of my own Mom who past away several years ago. I liked how you ended your first five stanzas with how her ways molded yours and played a part in who you are today. Very well done.

What a beautiful tribute to a mother. Your poem reflects the life of a beautiful human being who left and enormous legacy of different traits.
My favorite lines are: In truth,
I have little need for a designated holiday
To honor my mother's ways.
It says it all.
Thanks for sharing

Comment from Gloria ....
Lilies of the Valley are such delicate and beautiful flowers, aren't they. When presented here they look like lace or delicious candies. Such stellar imagery in the carpets of flower and golden marsh marigolds -- yes!
What a fine tribute to your mother, Diane and presented in just the right tone in my opinion.
The outtake lines showing each gift given and received from her garden.
A superb Mother's Day poem and I wish you great luck with the Committee.

Hello Gloria,
So very pleased my words resonated with you.
My mother was such a dynamic and creative force in my life and in the lives of my children and husband...
She "fought the good fight" until she finally let go...
Thank you again, Gloria...
Wishing you a beautiful week!

Awe this is so beautifully written. I absolutely loved it and as a mother myself I know she would have too. I should write something for my mom as well. This has inspired me.

This is a very lovely poem. Except for a few details, you could be speaking about my mother. I love your photos, they're pretty and they accentuate your poem nicely. All the words you've chosen to use project sweet images. I like the one about the imperfect Christmas tree. I think mom's are perfect in their imperfections. I wish I could show this poem to my mom; she's gone. On a good day she would have cherished it.
Best wishes,
Cindy

Hello Cindy!
So pleased you enjoyed!
And our Christmas trees were not only "imperfect" they almost always had a bird's nest tucked among its branches. Today, I tuck in an artificial one...or two...just because...
Thank you again!

This Mother's Day poem, Memory's Reawakened Moments, covers the myriad of ways our mothers have touched our lives and made life important and times together cherished. Terrific send up for your mom.

Hi Diane, that's such a lovely poem to your Mom for Mother's day... it's easy to see how very much she still means to you. I love the picture of the Lilly of the Valley in the vase. :)

This tribute beautifully shares your heartfelt connection to your mother. Moms are one of the most important people ever to be part of our lives. It is sad when they are not particularly good ones. I've worked with a lot of clients who did not have nurturing mothers. I love reading positive accounts of the wonderful ones like this.

Hello Spangle,
I taught K- graduate school for nearly forty years. Many of my students came from homes where their parents/guardians struggled with parenting and their ability to provide a joyful and nurturing environment for their offspring. I oftentimes feel that when I write about the positive childhood/life I have experienced, people find my reflections trite or maudlin. Still, I write that my children and grandchildren will remember...
Thank you so much for your excellent rating and thoughtful review.
Hoping you are safe and well...

Very beautiful poem of honor. I can almost feel your true feelings as if they were being told to me rather than written. Not many can describe how and what the heart feels as you just did. Thanks and best regards.
