Your first stanza was hilarious. That's so true. Your poem though was interesting. I love how each stanza seemed to share a different though. Very creative and worked well. I enjoyed it.

A lovely poem. Cogitator, with many thoughtful remarks. John Lennon's song 'Imagine' was probably the best he wrote, and how I wish it could happen. I thought the message of 'live for today' was relevant to what is going on today. Such a lovely poem and yes, Resurrection is Today! :)) Sandra xx

Live for today is the message
Accept the fact that we are ONE
Emotion gives us all passage
Follow our hearts and we'll be done
Let's change our minds and revere life
Adopt the goal of living truth
Use our power to remove strife
Heal Mother Earth for all our youth
This is a very moving poem--all we have is now. Thanks for sharing this one, my friend~Debbie

I like this line in your poem: "My wife' s Xes mark days' headstones", where we seem to be stymied in the stopped present, having ruined the past, and facing an uncertain future, in which, eventually, maybe we'll get it right belatedly for the next generation.
