My favorite part was, "Seven little girls, born in nine years
Caring for each other, drying tears
Riding bikes, reading, climbing trees
A most loving God gave me sisters like these.", because of the gratitude expressed to God and because of the relationship and it being strengthened through trials!
The Lord led me to these verses after I read this,
1 John 3:15-17 New International Version (NIV)
15 Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.
16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?

What a lovely concept for a poem on family. I have only one sister but, like you and your sisters, we're as close as can be. I love the number of descriptive images you used to describe the sibling relationship, and your rhymes are well chosen to enhance and not detract from the story.

Great poem for the contest. I absolutely love the title. Losing a parent young is oh so heartbreaking and life changing. It's great that you all stick together! Thank you for your poetry!

This is so comforting to read. I love big families. I miss the way it was when I was young, but now I am one of the last. My mum had 11 brothers and sisters. I was like a sister rather than a niece.
Very nice entry for the contest.

Sweet and uplifting. Glad all are well (?) after all these years. We need family more than ever--hope they live nearby--better yet, with you! (House-bound lately?--I remain defiantly unconfined despite==so far only== "recommended" isolation. Cheers. LIZ
