That expression certainly comes true at that time of the year. I like your interpretation of the saying, in like a lion, out like a lamb. Your words have so much imagery it's easy to see the lion and the lamb as one roars and one hops gently in the fields. I really like that picture! :)) Good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Good job with this even/odds poem. I wonder if the lamb would "skip" instead of "hop" - actually I guess the Bible speaks of this time - when the lion lies down with the lamb. that would be something to see.

Hi Gail trying to meet the requirement of the first and stanza being a synonym I find too restrictive I think skip would be far superior but not acceptable option. Thanks and have a grand day!

I would have loved the bleat, but alas that dang synonym rule -- so restrictive. But, the good news is we have twenty-three days until the calendar informs us it is Spring! Bleat, Bleat!
