Here in New England we get these a lot. And the wise thing to do is to stay inside with a cup of hot chocolate and write some poetry! Or, watch the latest episode of your favorite series...

June, I grew up in the mountain region of Eastern Washington State and it was deathly to drive under white-out conditions.

Melissa, thank you, I was, thinking on Christmas, about white-outs as one of our children didn't make it home for Christmas due to white-outs!

The author's words are interesting, eccentric and creative. I pondered
on the theme of this poem. I am still thinking about it! The words
flow and connect well. The artwork is perfect and compliments this
poem. Happy Holidays!

I think this is a good entry for the 2-3-2 Poetry writing prompt.
Your short verse tells of the danger of winter driving.
Well done and I wish you luck with the contest.

"White Outs", is short, succinct and very much to the point. With a minimum of words, this talented poet has told it as it is. Good luck with the contest!

I hate driving in the snows.

As soon as the forecast speaks of flakes, I check the refrigerator for my favorites for the next week- snowflakes do have the tendency to pile up.

Well done. Good luck.

In my opinion, so difficult to write such a brief poem that is both compliant with the prompt and offers a striking message. You have accomplished both in this succinct and boldly dramatic write and image. Best of luck in the contest...

You are very welcome, my pleasure I assure you, but with regret for the one who didn't make it home...Eve

Thank you for sharing your thoughts through your poem. Your message was very clear in only a few words. I enjoyed reading it very much. Nicely done.

Thanks for warning us that white-outs cause dagerous driving conditions, but everybody knows that, so you wasted all those member bucks you spent to bribe voters. ;o)
Good luck, anyway, and enjoy what's lleft of Christmas!

Hey Don, yeah, I was letting out frustration on Christmas, about white-outs, as one of our children didn't make it home for Christmas due to white-outs!

You better believe white-outs are risky! I live in upstate New York, 27 miles from the Canadian border. White outs are a common thing here. This little poem, allowed only a few syllables, still makes it a point loud and clear. The picture is perfect because when you look at it all you can see is white, which is exactly what a white out looks like. They are frightening because you could be driving along and it's perfectly clear and suddenly you're in the middle of a white out. It's hard to know if you're even still on the road. That's why this picture is such a great example. Great poem, great illustration, good luck in the contest!
