Colorful language in narration, dialofue and action.
I think this chapter gives me some picture of France and citizens, in a miniature way.
You end it well in suspense.

The reappearance of the back pack is good news and not too far fetched either. I enjoyed the antics concerned with trying out the boot space, and thought that the eventual plan stood moor chance of success unless something happens while they are separated and of course it did.
This chapter showed just how easy it is for good plans to go awry.

Thanks for bestowing a sixth star, Jim. I'm hoping to get this finished by the New Year but, as you mention in your review, good plans have a nasty habit of going awry!
