Excellent story, grabbed me right at the beginning and held me until the end. The clips were great, and added a lot to the story. Listening to Pres. Johnson speak was amazing. Good description and development of characters. I am very anxious to see the next installment.

I enjoyed this well-written chapter, Cathy and Bill. It is presented wonderfully from the start to the finish. I like how it begins with great action and continues throughout.
Grandpa's way of discussing his thoughts on the premonition/precognitive dreams was eerie the way Bill later had that nightmare and Cathy the same one after speaking with Bill following the US becoming involved in the Vietnam confrontation. I like how that dream was near the beginning and repeated at the end. You left readers with a great cliff hanger, too.
The events of the time are well-incorporated. Who doesn't remember Walter Cronkite on CBS with news of Vietnam? I believe his kind of reporting about it was the first time it was being broadcast in the living rooms of Americans nightly on tv. The inclusion of Jim Reeves death and how Grandpa and Grandma remembered him keeps readers abreast of the social/political atmosphere in the states in 1964. Great job with that facet.
Readers get a feel for how Bill's team bonded through the dream sequence. As a team they had to work together at all times. The bonding is evident in the alligator incident and the aftermath of the mortar attack.
Grandpa is such an endearing character. Readers love him and his down to earth wisdom and how Bill draws on his strength. Bill meeting the dog as he went to make that call shows stress from many 'things'--his separation from Cathy, his knowledge of what could be ahead for him and his family, and the demands of the intense training.
I like how Cathy felt the baby--fluttering soft as butterfly wings.' Bill's plan for his vacation after graduation sounded romantic. I hope Cathy agrees to it.
The questions at the end will keep readers wondering and returning to find out their answers. AWESOME job with this collaboration. Each POV is identifiable AND cohesive to the story at the same time.
Thanks for sharing. I look forward to chapter 17.

This is well written and the thought of Bill's death upset me. Hopefully, having a premonition of what may come, he will take care to not be so heroic if the time comes. I anxiously look forward to the next chapter. You are doing a great job with this.

What a well written chapter. It's very interesting, realistic. Bill's death scene made me cry. I'm so glad it's only a dream and sure hope it doesn't happen. I hope she'll be able to tell him her news soon. I enjoyed the little extras you put at the end. It brought back a lot of pleasant memories. Thanks for sharing them with us. As I was listening to Walter Cronkite Paul Harvey came to mind, how he'd end his segment. Thank you for the journey down memory lane.

My knowing, writing at your side, sharing your expertise, and having your support is a "PRESTIGIOUS HONOR!" A "SALUTE" to you, CO-AUTHOR! The "Walter Cronkite, Jim Reeves, Roger Miller, and President Johnson Video's are "AWESOME!" Lot's of research and I commend you. Are we ready to start Chapter 17? Silly question, huh? Why? Cause you already have--"HURRAH!" Best wishes, Merry Christmas and God Bless. Respectfully with Admiration and Love, Bill.

That would be awful if that dream came true. Perhaps if Bill knows about the baby coming, he'll take a bit more care not to fall on that bomb. This was a really exciting part, both of you. I can't wait for the next part! Big hugs, and have a wonderful Christmas! :)) Sandra xxx
