A very happy poem, someone saying goodbye to despair and embracing hope, which is all around us really, I don't understand people despairing, although I must admit, I certainly did before the Lord appeared to me, then I really knew hope. Beautifully written Sally, a treasure of a write, pointing out that we surrounded by hope, all the wonderful signs God allots to us, well done, good write, blessings Sally, blessings, Roy

A delightful poem with a wonderful prescription for depression. Seeing others happy can make a depressed person feel more depressed. But in reaching out to others and rejoicing with their joys, you can pull away from despair.

This is a delightful poem. I like the way it flows as the speaker graduates
from a low, dark, even bitter mood to one of lightheartedness and the joy of living.

Hello Sally. I like this one because I know some depressed people and they struggle to find joy in anything. It doesn't take a lot to find a little joy unless the internal struggles are so great it actively represses the mood. Z

I do a little about despair and how easily it is to check in and out of it. I?ve been going blind now for the past ten years and in the midst of it had many other losses of health and family members. I lost my first granddaughter at birth. To focus on one?s misery is to miss the healing all around that God has sent to pull us out. The insightful inspiration for my poem. It?s better than drugs.

That's the way! It's hard to be gloomy if you have a smile on your face. I've found humming helps too. We can't let despair win. It's a sin against the Holy Ghost.

Very well put my friend in describing getting rid of your dispair. You can't be said when everything around you and everyone is happy. So you put on a happy face.

This is a great presentation, Sally. I like the image. Your words flow well with great imagery. I like the many examples you give of events then later what your reactions were to them. This has great advice to all. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Love this! It is the hardest thing for someone living with despair to simply let go, but so absolutely necessary for inner peace! Some say just changing your thoughts is the answer, and your poem reflects this perfectly! xoxo
