Thanks. Glad you liked it.

This is a very nice tribute to your muse. I suspect that all of the members on this website have a dry spell once in a while. But real poets, whether published or not, if they keep coming back to this artform they are still poets. I believe that makes all the difference. Best wishes.

A detailed poem that makes you want to read in between the lines and figure it out. This mysterious being that inspires you seems to be hidden in plain sight, but is only shown to you. Very interesting

Thanks. I can't figure her out either.

Hello Mystery Poet,
I love this poem about your muse :) Your muse sounds a lot like my muse. Sometimes mine is dependable and sometimes she is expendible. Yet, somehow we are tethered to each other and we must agree to work together.
I enjoyed your rhymes, especially work and murk.
Best wishes in this contest.

Thanks. I'm hearing that a lot. The muse seems unreliable as a species. Yet they do show up eventually.

Must agree with this poem. The photo looks like my mind in the mornings. Writing sometimes can be rewarding then again terrible aftereffects. Well said poet.

Thanks. Yes, mornings are tough. I avoid them whenever possible.

You obviously know your muse all too well, my friend. This is a good thing however, as we have learned through the years and writing experience. She was certainly a contributor to this gem. Good job. Good luck in the contest. Bob

Thanks. Yes, she did seem to want this poem about herself.

I know it's very unusual, but my muse happens to be a male.
A pushy, stubborn, SOB of a taskmaster--a slave driver--who constantly insists--every day--that I write something (usually around 3:00 am in the morning when I am sound asleep!).
Your poem rhymes and flows together quite nicely.
No matter where your inspiration comes from the important thing is that you have some inspiration.
Well done, and good luck in the contest.

Thanks That muse of yours sounds as scary as the stuff you write. I just got the contest results. I came in second. The good wishes must have helped. Thanks again,

You are more than welcome,Cindy.
Congratulations on your second place finish.

I think we all have our own ideas about the mysterious muse and just how s/he operates. Your lighthearted piece explores some of the vagaries in this sweet couplet-rhymed piece - but did your muse assist in its creation?
The piece that resonates most with me is the line about the night-time visits. I know I should really get up and record these moments of inspiration, but I rarely do. Oh, how many masterpieces have disappeared by the time I do get up!

Thanks. I think my muse wanted this poem about herself. I was reviewing another contest entry and I was going to write 'sometimes I think my muse is drunk,' and she said NO NO NO That line is not for a review! That's how this started.
Comment from Iza Deleanu
Yes you won:) lovely poem and I can imagine a drunk muse jumping up and down from word to word in search of the best expression and personification. Good luck with the contest

Thanks for a very funny review. I'll have to get that little muse drunk more often.
