Excellent entry for the contest. I like reading stories about good relationships, and this one definitely qualifies as a good connection between grandson and his granddad. Thanks for sharing! Bill

Good luck in the flash fiction contest, Yvette. This was absolutely great and rather inspiring. I think it is important for the generations to establish a bond and maintain it. I really enjoyed the obvious bond between Scott and his Paw-Paw.

Aww, Yvette what a lovely story!! I love that the grandfather and grandson were really happy that he didn't get into that retirement home. That was such an uplifting, wonderful story. Well done, my friend and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xxx

A very well-written seventy-five word flash fiction about the grandpa living with his grandson in a single room awaiting acceptance in an old age facility, the child and grandpa seems to wish the arrangement never ends.

Hahahaha!
No matter how good a retirement community or assisted living facility may or may not be there is nothing that can compare to the comfort of home.
It's said "home is where the heart is."
I, for one, happen to agree.
Excellent flash fiction, Yvette.

What a charming idea! It's better to have a loved one at home. The more I learn about those care facilities, the scarier the idea becomes. I think a lot of elderly placed in care actually die emotionally first. Your fiction shows a reality need in love.

This is a wonderful little story, so aptly illustrated with the photograph you chose too. Absolutely heartwarming, and as always, flawless. I bet it will do well with the judges. :)))

Lady Dawn, you are going to spoil me with those shiny objects there!! :) ;) Thank you, thank you... Nothing less than six stars would do for this little jewel, my friend. I'm just glad I had one!

Well done, Yvette. This will be a real contender in the contest I am sure. Your use of 75 words proves that much can be told in a few words that sometimes take others paragraph after paragraph to get to the story's end. Good Luck, my friend. Bravo! Bob
